What it is, and why it moves gold, the dollar, the Nasdaq and bitcoin
GDP sums what the US economy produced. The BEA publishes an advance estimate, a second estimate, and a third estimate for each quarter. The headline is a seasonally adjusted annual rate. The report also includes a price index.
A stronger growth reading is generally read as support for the US dollar and for company earnings, which can help the Nasdaq. Gold and bitcoin usually react through interest-rate expectations rather than through the growth number alone: stronger growth can mean rates stay higher, which weighs on both. A weaker reading is generally read the other way. The price index inside the report can matter even when the real-growth headline is unchanged. This is how the release is used. It is not a forecast of the next print and not a recommendation to buy or sell.

Frequently asked questions
When is US GDP this month?
The next release this month is Thursday 29 October 2026, 14:30 Cyprus (8:30 ET).
What time is US GDP released?
The next release is at 14:30 in Cyprus and 8:30 Eastern Time, on Thursday 29 October 2026. Cyprus uses Asia/Nicosia. The US and Europe change clocks on different weekends, so the Cyprus hour is calculated for that date.
When is the next US GDP?
The next published date is Thursday 29 October 2026, 14:30 Cyprus (8:30 ET).
How often is US GDP released?
Three estimates per quarter. Future dates are shown only when they are in the calendar data. A release that also contains PCE is listed on both pages because that is how it appears in the calendar.
Why are there three GDP releases for one quarter?
The advance estimate uses incomplete source data. The second and third estimates fill in inventories, trade, and services spending. Revisions of a few tenths of a percentage point are normal. Each one is a separate row when the calendar lists it.
