Crypto Check: Clarity Act Fails, Bitcoin Slides to $76,004
The Senate vote this morning flagged at 18:15 UTC printed as a fail. Cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R. 3633 needed 60 votes. The roll call landed near 49 to 50, about 11 votes short, with no Democratic votes to proceed (CNBC, Bitcoin.com). It was not final passage. Polymarket cut the odds of a 2026 signing to about 6.5 percent from 29.5 percent on Monday.
Bitcoin last printed about 76,004 dollars (TradingView 76,004; Yahoo Finance 76,030.20 at 19:57 UTC), a fade from this morning's 77,263 and Monday's 79,039. Bloomberg had a session low of 74,910. The 75,000 bearish trigger tagged, then bounced. The 80,000 reclaim still did not print. Ether last printed about 2,403 dollars (TradingView 2,403.1). Circle fell about 11 percent. Live levels sit on the ThriveInMarkets homepage. Spot gold last printed about 4,296 dollars (TradingView 4,295.865; Kitco 4,296.60), a hold versus this morning's 4,288. After-Hours and Overnight Watch: Retail Sales, Then FOMC
Tuesday's after-hours earnings slate was light. Next up: US retail sales at 12:30 UTC Wednesday, then the FOMC at 18:00 UTC with Chair Kevin Warsh at 18:30 UTC. Lennar reports after Wednesday's close. Friday is the Bank of Japan. Docket: calendar.
Three scenarios frame the overnight, not a recommendation. In a contained-oil path, WTI slips back through Monday's 104.95 high and the S&P leans on 7,585.73. In a hot-oil path, a hold above today's 106.75 high, or Brent through 110, would add another inflation impulse into Warsh. In a Clarity-fade path, bitcoin fails to reclaim 76,000 and tests a hold through 75,000 into the Fed. Traders watching 7,585.73 as the new cash reference. Bullish trigger: a reclaim of Monday's 7,619.98, then Friday's 7,656.98. Bearish trigger: a slide through today's 7,572.69 low.
- Wednesday 12:30 UTC: US retail sales; 18:00 UTC: FOMC, Warsh at 18:30 UTC
- Lennar after Wednesday's close; Bank of Japan on Friday
- S&P bullish trigger: reclaim 7,619.98 then 7,656.98; bearish: a slide through 7,572.69
- Oil key reference: WTI $105.99; a hold above today's $106.75 high would keep the premium
