The Bank of England is 11:00 UTC. US jobless claims print at 12:30 UTC. Catch up: week-ahead note. This is the morning scorecard, not an instruction.

Story of the Day: Gold Rebounds After Warsh
Warsh's first FOMC is now in the tape. The committee hiked 25 basis points to 3.75 to 4.00 percent, unanimous. Sixteen of 18 officials penciled in at least one more 2026 hike. Warsh said the move "removed a dose of accommodation" and that inflation has been "too high" for "too long" (Morningstar). CME FedWatch assigns about a 50 percent chance of an October follow-up. A December hike is fully priced. Goldman Sachs, cited by Reuters, called October the most likely next meeting. Three hikes are priced for this cycle.
The overnight bid in equities and gold treats the hike as an inflation-containment print, not a growth scare. Traders watching whether 7,551.81 holds as the cash reference into the London and New York opens.
- Unanimous 25 bp hike to 3.75-4.00% is in the tape; 16 of 18 see at least one more 2026 hike
- October follow-up about 50% priced; Goldman base case is October
- Warsh: "removed a dose of accommodation"; inflation "too high" for "too long"
- Key reference: Wednesday cash 7,551.81 and overnight ES ~7,602
Oil Extends the Fade as Saudi Offers Oman Loadings

Overnight range 100.39 to 102.47. Brent is near 105.05 to 105.67 dollars (Straits Times 105.67). Saudi Arabia is offering more crude to Asian refiners via ship-to-ship transfers off Oman's Sohar port (Reuters). The East-West pipeline remains offline. Yanbu loadings stay suspended. Traders watching 101.12 as the live reference and 102.43 as Wednesday's settlement. A reclaim of 102.43, then 106.75, would restore the strike premium. A slip through 100.39 would extend the fade. - WTI ~$101.12 after Wednesday's settlement $102.43 and a Tuesday $106.75 high
- Brent ~$105.05-$105.67; overnight WTI range $100.39-$102.47

Spot gold is near 4,320 dollars (TradingView 4,319.735 as of September 17; Kitco 4,310.80 at 03:05 ET, up 1.12 percent), a bounce from Wednesday's last print near 4,264 after a near six-week low. Kitco's range was about 4,257 to 4,319. Friday's close near 4,349 remains unrepaired. Traders watching 4,320 then Friday's 4,349 as the repair map. A slide through Wednesday's area around 4,264 would resume last week's fade. These are technical reference points, not instructions. Bitcoin is near 76,600 dollars (TradingView 76,600; CoinMarketCap about 76,404), a hold versus Wednesday's last print near 76,055. The 80,000 reclaim still did not print. What's Next: BoE, Claims, Lennar, Then the BOJ
The Bank of England decision is 11:00 UTC. Markets price more than an 80 percent chance of a hold at 3.75 percent (Associated Press). UK CPI rose to 3.1 percent in August. US jobless claims print at 12:30 UTC, consensus about 208,000 versus last week's 206,000. US cash opens at 13:30 UTC. Lennar hosts its earnings call at 15:00 UTC after a miss; after-hours last night about 76.74 dollars versus a 78.36 cash close. Friday is the Bank of Japan and quad-witching. Docket: calendar.
Three scenarios frame the session, not a recommendation. In a contained-oil path, WTI holds the fade through 101.12 and ES leans on 7,551.81 into claims. In a gold-repair path, a hold above 4,320 toward Friday's 4,349 would confirm the overnight bounce. In a hawkish-BoE path, a surprise hike would keep the dollar bid and test 7,507.77. Traders watching 7,551.81 as the cash reference. Bullish trigger: a reclaim of Tuesday's 7,585.73, then Monday's 7,619.98. Bearish trigger: a slide through Wednesday's 7,507.77 low.
- Today 11:00 UTC: Bank of England; 12:30 UTC: jobless claims; 13:30 UTC: US cash open
- 15:00 UTC: Lennar call. Friday: Bank of Japan, quad-witching
- S&P bullish trigger: reclaim 7,585.73 then 7,619.98; bearish: a slide through 7,507.77
- Oil key reference: WTI $101.12; Tuesday's $106.75 high still unrepaired
